This Privacy Policy explains how Digital Receipt ("we", "us") handles information when you use our website and application. This is a launch template — have it reviewed by a lawyer for your jurisdiction before wide public launch.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: email, hashed password, business profile
• Billing data: processed by Stripe (we store customer/subscription IDs and plan status)
• Product usage: receipts, products, customers you enter, reports
• Technical data: IP address and basic request logs for security

2. How we use information

• Provide and improve the service
• Authenticate users and protect accounts
• Process subscriptions and send transactional emails
• Prevent abuse and enforce plan limits

3. Sharing

We use processors such as hosting providers (e.g. DigitalOcean), databases (PostgreSQL), email delivery (e.g. Resend), Cloudflare for DNS/CDN, and Stripe for payments. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Customer data on receipts

If you enter customer names, phones, or emails on receipts, you are the controller of that data. You must have a lawful basis to store it and should configure retention appropriate for your business.

5. Retention & deletion

We retain account data while your account is active. Contact support to request account deletion. Backup copies may persist for a limited period.
